It's a dogs life.

I spent the last couple of days in Edinburgh and for the first time in a very long time I went away without my 5D, in fact I only had my 35mm camera with me. So I shot everything analogue, meaning I have nothing to show today. I have one film ready to be developed and I'm feeling the anticipation of not knowing exactly what my images are going to be like.

Unfortunately my (well, borrowed from my boyfriend on long term let) lovely little 35mm Pentax died when I was about to take a photograph of an absolutely massive dog on the Royal Mile (I petted it and I think that's honestly the closest I'll get in my life to stroking a lion, it was massive!). My boyfrind did have two 35mm cameras with him though, so I borrowed one of his for the rest of the trip.

Anyway, seeing as I don't have anything to show from Edinburgh yet, here are two images shot one cold and wet day in Glasgow recently.

I have a new obsession of shooting images of dogs tied up waiting on thier owners.

This is a photo of my boyfriend Ande (blog), I think it has an almost Eastern European feel to it.

The coat is a Russian Army coat, but it's not only that giving it that sort of feel. I think it may be the Neilston train doing it as much as anything. Here is a photograph Ande shot some time ago of me, and I think it has the same feel. This one was also shot on a Neilston train!

I haven't actually ever been to Eastern Europe, so I may be talking rubbish...

I have a week or so before having to throw myself back into the deep end of Uni work, so I'll be taking this time to shoot a new project I have in mind, research lots and lots of photographers and come up with some interesting and creative ideas. Keep your eyes peeled, I'll no doubt be on blogger a lot.

3A Finals

Until December my festive friend.

I've given myself the night off doing uni work, because I think I'll go mad if I don't have a break. Although... on this, my night off, all I'm doing is editing photos, changing the layout of this and taking down my Christmas tree. I realised I hadn't taken any photographs of my Christmas tree so got the ol' Pentax film camera out an shot a few. Then, because I'm impatient, I got out my 5D and shot a few more. I'm also going to throw in a photo of my toilet looking Christmassy, it's nicer than it sounds...

Block 1 of uni is almost over. Can't wait to get stuck into next block! I'll get my final images for this block up on here soon.

Just a bit of fun...

Whilst looking through the blog of fellow photographer Stew Bryden http://stewbrydenphoto.tumblr.com/page/1 I came across a photo that reminded me of a photograph I shot one sunny summers afternoon in the studio in Partick. It's of my wonderfully beautiful best friend Fiona, who just so happens to be a fantastic make-up artist, and it's all just a bit of fun!

The book she is holding up in front of her is 'Motel Fetish' by Chas Ray Krider.

I think I may need to purchase that book (but hide it from my mum and dad) because it'll be wonderful referance material for a research project I am considering doing. More about that some other day...

Fog, snow, windmills, deer and a hidden goose!

My boyfriend and I went a drive up to the Eaglesham Wind Farm yesterday. It was a really lovely drive, although a bit scary at times because of all the snow, and we couldn't see very far ahead of us at all because of the fog. It was also absolutely freezing up at the wind farm, and the sun was going down very fast, so we didn't go as long a walk as planned. Got some crackin' photos though! (If I do say so myself).

Snow

I know it's so obvious, but I've been taking lots of photos of the snow this week. I love this weather, everything looks so much prettier when covered in snow.
