Two places I love.

My bed.

My train station.

My bed image was shot when I was messing about with pinhole techniques on my 5D. It's the reason my sensor is covered in dust. Everybody loves their bed right? I'm probably the only 27 year old that still lives with my mum and dad and sleeps in a single bed. I don't care, I love it.

For the second image I was just messing about with jolting my camera up as I took the photo. I realise that loving my train station may make me some kind of train spotting geek, but I do, I love it. Sometimes when I'm at it I imaging myself when I'm 80 taking the Neilston train from town and getting off at Williamwood. Almost makes me cry just thinking about it.

I've got a shoot with my lovely good friend Chloe tomorrow. She's moving to Brighton soon, so we're going to the studio to capture images of her before she goes. I'm going to miss her.

Seascape

As part of a uni project I've bee doing a bit of a homage to the great landscape photographer Thomas Joshua Cooper. I have 10 possible finals, need to narrow this down to 3 for Wednesday. Not going to put all 10 up here, but may get round to putting them on flickr soon. Still don't really like the fact I have a flickr.

Feeling a bit sorry for myself today. Was at a Rob Zombie gig last night and my body aches today. Going to get a nice cup of tea and read about female photographers and the male gaze now.

Before I go here is a wonderful photograph of Mr Zombie that my talented boyfriend Ande Murdoch (blog) took.

Yummy.

Blue

I went to Culzean on Wednesday. It was the best day I've had in a long long time, everything including the weather was perfect.

I love the imperfections that appear when you shoot through a gel.

More images to come from Culzean.

I'd told myself I'd have this evening off, I'd watch a movie and not worry about uni work. In actual fact I've read about the male gaze, watched an episode of Scrubs, and began editing my Culzean seascape images.

Drama

Had a short deadline handin for uni this week. The title of the project was to be drama. There was lots of brilliant photos shown by the class, here's what I did...

Magic Hour take 2

I've just realised that I never put my indoor magic hour images up on this blog.

So here they are.

Had a really nice wee trip to the Westend with Eve today, shot everything on film though so you're going to have to wait to see those images. Speaking of which I finally got my Edinburgh film developed today, so I'll get those up asap.

Trip to Culzean tomorrow morning for my first lot of landscape photos for Extended Development class. Then I'm going to have to really concentrate on 3B, spoke to John Carberry about it this morning and at the moment my head feels all over the place. So much to do so little time, and a Rob Zombie gig in between it all!

Snaps

I did a shoot with my friend Fiona again last week. I found it hard to get inspired and even though I spent over 7 hours at hers I only came away with a handfull of images that I'm actually happy with. Next time I must be more prepared with ideas!

It was a great day, even though my mojo was dead. We ended up on the vodka and discussing future shoots we want to do. It's so cliche but we're both pretty keen to do images like at the begining of Ginger Snaps.

Keep watching till it gets to the photos the girls take to hand in for school.

So here is the first 'dead' image of Fiona.

Just so goth.

Predictable Flickr

I made my flickr just the other day. I've added some more images to it in the past hour or so. The image which has the most views is the one of my friend Fiona holding up the photo of boobs in front of her. I only added that one about half an hour ago and already its got a lot more views than any other images. Oh predictable flickr.

Flickr

Ok, I've done it... I've created a flickr account. I'm not sure if I'm happy about this or not. I've always thought about flickr is being somewhere that people put photos to validate them. They only put photos on to get "nice" comments about them. Anyway, I actually know quite a lot of people with Flickr accounts that are not that sort of person at all, so I figured I may as well give it a shot. I may end up not using it, or I may end up loving it.

I don't even know if that's the right link to give you...

Glasgow's lanes.

Glasgow's lanes mostly smell of either pee or booze, but sometimes you can find wee gems in them.

Can I smell wet dog?!

It took me forever to get home today. The heavens opened up mid afternoon and the wind was so strong I thought I'd get swept off my feet! So, due to these 'adverse weather conditions' Scotrain weren't coping very well and my train was terminated at Cathcart. I love Cathcart, so actually didn't really mind waiting about to be picked up and taken home. I had my boyfriend Ande (blog) with me, and even though cars were splashing us and the wind was making it almost impossible to stand up, it wasn't actually too bad standing about.

Waiting under the railway bridge in Cathcart also meant that I saw a beautiful little dog waiting for it's owner outside Beechings Bar. The wee thing must have been getting soaked but it just stood stairing into the pub, until I managed to catch his attention and he looked right at me whilst I was shooting him.

Two minutes later the dogs owner came outside, said something to his dog, then they both went into the pub together.

It took a lot longer for me to get into a nice warm place, I should have just joined them for a drink!

'Magic Hour'

I shot these images for my uni 'Magic Hour' brief. I used my flash on camera and placed colour gels over the flash to get the colour you see in these images. The first one here was shot early in the morning as the sun rose through thick fog, the other images were taken in Kelvingrove Park at about 4.30 on Friday as the sun was setting. Although on Friday the sunset was rather non-existent, it really just got dark. As you can see I ended up going for something completely different that the portraits I had initially thought of doing.

Not sure which 3 I'll hand in as my finals tomorrow, so any feed back is more than welcome!

Also, just because he's brilliant, here is a photo of my budgie Pepsi.
